Power battery auxiliary materials solutions

The main role of the new energy battery auxiliary materials application

1. Thermal insulation and buffering

(1)  Thermal insulation: Aerogels, nano-insulation boards, etc., have good thermal insulation properties and can prevent thermal runaway of batteries.

(2)  Cushioning: Aerogel, MPP foam, IXPP foam, silicone foam, etc., have different stress-strain curves to match different compression performance requirements.

2.  Fireproof insulation

(1)  Fireproofing: Mica, basalt fiber, Secka fiber, etc., have good fireproof properties.

(2)  Insulation: Auxiliary materials ensure high insulation and voltage resistance, eliminating electric shock risks during normal operation and maintaining safety under extreme conditions..

Application of auxiliary materials in new energy batteries

1.  Aerogel and nano thermal insulation board: used between battery cells, with excellent thermal insulation performance to prevent thermal runaway.

2.  MPP, PU, CR, EPDM, and other foams: used for cushioning between cells, supporting liquid cooling plates, and securing upper covers, serving functions such as thermal retention, structural support, or adhesive containment.

3.  Silicone foam: installed in the lower battery casing to provide cushioning and sealing.

4.  Rigid/Flexible PU Foam: Applied to the outer rim of the lower casing for thermal retention and impact protection.

5.  Fiber-Based Materials: Utilized in battery covers for fireproofing.
